It comes with two choices of operating systems, namely Linux and Windows XP version. As similar to other rival netbooks in the market (such as Acer Aspire One and MSI Wind), Asus Eee PC 1000 has a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 processor and 1024GB RAM of memory as standard. For Linux, it comes with 80GB of hard drive, on the other hand, for Windows XP version it has a capacity of 160GB. This is really the first time that Eee PC Windows version has a greater capacity than the Linux version.

Dell’s is a late bloomer into the growing trend of mini laptops with its 8.9 inch Dell Inspiron Mini 9 (with a larger ‘Mini 12′ also included in the series).
